THOMAS NEUBAUER (silver)
Thomas Neubauer est né le 8 juin 1999 à Paris. Il baigne dans l’univers de l’automobile dès l’enfance avec un père concessionnaire mais ne fait ses premiers dans la compétition qu’à partir de 14 ans en Karting.
En 2015, il a tout juste 16 ans et participe au Championnat de France KZ125 dans la catégorie adulte de karting et se classe à la 12ème place.
L’année suivante, il participe au Championnat du Monde et d’Europe CIK FIA Karting KZ2 ainsi qu’au Championnat de France Long Circuit et monte sur la 3ème marche du podium à l’issue de sa saison.
Il fait ensuite le grand saut en monoplaces en s’attaquant à la Toyota Racing Series en Nouvelle Zélande en 2017 ainsi qu’à la Formule Renault Eurocup avec Tech1 Racing. Mais sa morphologie l’oblige à arrêter au bout de deux saisons : sa grande taille et son poids ne lui permettent pas de perdurer en monoplaces. Décision est alors prise de se tourner vers le Grand Tourisme.
En 2019 il dispute sa première année en GT au sein du team AKKA ASP dirigée par Jérome Policand sur une Mercedes AMG GT3 qu’il partage en Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe avec Nico Bastian. Il brille dès sa première course en remportant la course au général sur le circuit britannique de Brands Hatch : une première pour un équipage Silver ! A la fin de la saison il est sacré Champion en catégorie Silver Cup.
Cette année, il retrouve l’écurie Tech1 Racing et se lance un nouveau challenge en GT World Challenge Europe en changeant de monture et partage la Lexus RC F GT3 #15 avec Aurélien Panis en Sprint et Timothé Buret les rejoint en Endurance. Il est l’auteur de la pole position à Monza en Silver Cup, de deux pole positions au Général à Misano et remporte la course de Zandvoort en Silver Cup.
Thomas Neubauer was born in Paris on June 8, 1999. He grew up in a motorsport environment with a father who was a car dealer, but he did not make his first steps into competition until he was 14 years old. In Karting, obviously.
In 2015, aged 16, he took part in the French KZ125 Championship in the adult category and finished P12.
The following year, he entered the CIK FIA Karting KZ2 World and European Championship as well as the French “Long Circuit” Championship where he reached the third step of the podium.
He then made the big leap to single-seaters with the Toyota Racing Series in New Zealand in 2017 as well as the Formula Renault Eurocup with Tech1 Racing. But his morphology forced him to stop after two seasons: his large size and weight did not allow him to continue in single-seaters. The decision was then taken to switch to GT’s.
In 2019, he competed in his first year in GT with the AKKA ASP team led by Jerome Policand on a Mercedes AMG GT3 which he shared in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe with Nico Bastian. He shined from his very first race by winning the overall race on the British circuit of Brands Hatch: a premiere for a Silver crew! At the end of the season, he was crowned Champion in the Silver Cup category.
This year, he returned to the Tech1 Racing team, ready for a new challenge in GT World Challenge Europe with a brand-new gun, the #15 Lexus RC F GT3, shared with Aurelien Panis in Sprint and with Timothe Buret joining the duo for the Endurance Cup. He signed a pole position at Monza in the Silver Cup, two pole positions in the overall classification at Misano, and won the race at Zandvoort in the Silver Cup.
